DFM Research Fund

Since 2008, the Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at McMaster University has funded research projects in primary care, palliative care and medical education. The purpose of this funding opportunity is to foster a culture of inquiry through research that is relevant to primary care, and to build research capacity in individuals and the department. This year, the Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at McMaster University will fund up to 11 projects with awards of $5,000 to $10,000 each, including one award for knowledge translation and one for graduate students.

New investigators can apply for enhanced support with their pilot project proposal through a mentorship program. Successful applicants will join an ongoing community of practice for support and advice throughout their project. The mentorship Letter of Intent deadline is September 24 2024. Full applications (with or without mentorship) are due December 11 2024.
