We recognize the disproportionate health harms experienced by people deprived of housing. Our research in this area includes a qualitative study exploring the experiences of people deprived of housing in the early phases of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The Nowhere to Go study, led by Dr. Claire Bodkin, is a mixed methods study to explore the health impacts of service restriction for people accessing emergency shelters in Hamilton. The research team includes people with lived experience and people who have worked as frontline shelter workers.
