McMaster Community Paramedicine Research Team presents 2023 CP@clinic Annual Report at Ontario Community Paramedicine Knowledge Expo
On February 21 and February 22, Gina Agarwal, along with colleagues from the McMaster Community Paramedicine (MCP) Research Team; Ric Angeles, Christie Koester, Francine Marzanek, and Mikayla Plishka participated in the Ontario Community Paramedicine Knowledge Expo (OCPKEE) held in Toronto to connect with their paramedic colleagues. Gina Agarwal is the Director of the CP@clinic Program, Ric Angeles oversees and manages the CP@clinic Database, Francine Marzanek coordinates program implementation across all sites, Christie Koester assists with the database management and creates the site specific reports, and Mikayla Plishka manages the online CP@clinic training platform for the paramedics.
During the event, the MCP Team presented their 2023 CP@clinic Annual Report of the program activities and impacts. They also shared their findings from a research study related to mapping paramedic clinical impression codes for Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions and Mental Health Conditions in the UK and Canada.
The CP@clinic Annual Report for 2023, highlighted the progress and impact of the CP@clinic Program over the past year:
Enhanced Lives: CP@clinic positively impacted 1,683 individuals, while CP@home supported 335 people.
Health Assessments: Paramedics successfully conducted 13,175 Health Risk Assessments.
Paramedic Training: The CP@clinic Paramedic Training Program now features new and updated modules covering topics such as wound care and congestive heart failure.
Microcredential: Paramedics who complete the CP@clinic Paramedic Program Training now earn a McMaster University Microcredential.
Database Platform: The CP@clinic database is now available in McMaster’s EMR-grade Open Source Clinical Application Resource (OSCAR).
Global Expansion: We’re scaling-out the CP@clinic Program to Victoria, Australia. The first site started as a pilot with Sunraysia Community Health Services in Dec 2022 and has now expanded to two other community health services in the province of Victoria.
