PEACH Health Ontario: Establishing partnerships across health care facilities to support climate action
PEACH Health Ontario has undergone tremendous growth in the last several months! We have formally joined the Department of Family Medicine and have new office space for our staff and volunteers. We are also working closely with the Faculty of Health Sciences communications team to create a new website and with the Hamilton Family Health Team (HFHT) on their Green Initiative.
Our work is primarily focused on knowledge translation and establishing partnerships between people and organizations within health care, academia and sustainability. Through this model, we have created a new Sustainable Advanced Care Planning and End of Life Care toolkit and have several articles and commentary pieces in the publication process. Other toolkits that focus on topics such as sustainable emergency medicine and personal choices that impact carbon emissions are in development. Finally, with HFHT, we are launching a Green Office Award program aimed at family medicine offices.
