PEACH Health Ontario: community workshops and second annual conference

PEACH Health Ontario is coming up on our three-year anniversary with the Department of Family Medicine. In this time we have established lasting relationships within McMaster and the wider Canadian health care sector, produced 19 peer-reviewed publications (3 in press), delivered continuous presentations to provincial, national, and international organizations on sustainable health care practices and research, and secured and partnered on numerous grants.
One of our main programs this year is “Creating a Justice-Centred Knowledge Mobilization Hub for Climate Action Across the Life Course”. Working with Environment Hamilton, the project engages with local communities to learn about their needs and experiences around climate change. The goal is to collect data that will lead to the creation of a climate action and research hub. Community workshops are underway! More information about the program can be found on the PEACH website.
We are also preparing for our second annual Conference “Stories for Health Systems Change: Mobilizing Climate Justice Narratives”: The day will bring together leading experts in sustainability, planetary health, ethics, Indigenous studies, climate justice, and knowledge translation to explore how climate change is transforming healthcare delivery, and how human stories can drive cultural and structural change within the system. More information about the conference can be found on the PEACH website.
