Part-Time

Our part-time faculty are the heart of our distributed education program. Across Ontario, they bring learning to life – sharing their knowledge, mentoring learners, and shaping the next generation of physicians in meaningful, community-based and hospital settings.

Ways to get involved:

There are many ways to contribute, depending on your interests and clinic.

Teaching and Academic Roles

  • Examiner
  • Presenter
  • Facilitator and more.

  • Quality Assurance Tutor.

Appointment Types

Part-time faculty are typically appointed at one of the following ranks:

  • Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct)
  • Assistant Clinical Professor

Appointments are made for a three year term.

The difference between the ranks reflects your annual teaching contribution:

  • Assistant Clinical Professor: 100+ weighted teaching hours per year
  • Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct): 50+ weighted teaching hours per year

Regardless of appointment type, all faculty are expected to maintain their appropriate hospital privileges and/or license or membership with their relevant regulatory authority.
